Il packaging quindi assumeva la mera funzione di custodia il cui costo doveva essere necessariamente contenuto. Si era molto lontani dalle considerazioni attuali che, hanno portato l&#8217;attenzione sull&#8217;importanza del design e, sulla necessit\u00e0 di comunicare attraverso la confezione il valore della merce contenuta. L&#8217;esperienza di acquisto via web \u00e8 in evoluzione ed il packaging deve seguire questa crescente tendenza. L&#8217;attenzione oggigiorno viene indirizzata ai materiali green e alla riduzione dello spreco. Nasce cos\u00ec; l&#8217;idea di progettare confezioni che possano avere una seconda vita, per utilizzi anche creativi. Per creare un ponte virtuale tra chi vende e chi acquista, \u00e8 necessario agire con grafiche accattivanti che sappiano raccontare una storia.
